Wrought iron curtain rods and their accompanying accessories give an eternal and ageless charm to a home interior, be it for a country home or a typical modern home. In fact, they are also ideal for an office environment. The common colors for wrought iron curtain rods are black, brown and sometimes metallic, and they come with finely carved knobs. Whatever the choice of color, make sure the rods match the color of your home and the type of curtain and print of curtain that you are planning to hang up. The rods come in three unique design ends: curled pocket panels and ball ends. They all add a timeless touch to curtain rods.
Wrought iron curtain rods are easy to install and last a long time, since they are made of iron. However, you need to keep in mind that the thicker the rod, the heavier it will be, so make sure that the support brackets together with the attachments are strong enough to hold them up (with the weight of the curtain as well), and that the mounting surface is also solid enough to take on the weight. Even so, they are a much better choice than wooden rods, which are subjected to terrible wear and tear every time the curtains are drawn or when the curtain rings glide up and down.
Since there are many designs but not many colors to choose from, make sure that you make the right choice, as the choice you make will be literally hanging around your home for a long time.
