Do you know that 99% of the contaminants from your water can be eliminated through the use of water filters? If you do, then you definitely know that purified water is always better to drink because it looks, smells and tastes better. That is why it is good to have your water filtered with the use of water filters.
There are several types of water filters. These include carbon block water filters, reverse osmosis, water distillers, ionized water filters and ultraviolet water filters.
The carbon block water filters are the types of filter that make use of charcoal. Charcoal is an effective water filter medium since it absorbs impurities quickly, making this type of filter very effective in removing contaminants.
If carbon block water filter uses charcoal, reverse osmosis water filters include a fine membrane to be used in filtering through a process known as osmosis. These are usually installed under-sinks and are effective at leaving the water pure and safe to drink.
Water distillers make use of electricity to heat the tap water until it boils. The contaminants are left in the container while the purified water goes into another container. Many drink distilled water but reports show that drinking this for a long-term is not advisable because it has negative effects on one’s health.
Another way to filter water is by enhancing water electronically. This is done by running water over positive and negative electrodes. Through this process, the water is ionized, creating 70% alkaline and 30% acid water. The alkaline ionized water is then fit to drink.
And lastly, the ultraviolet water filters make use of ultraviolet light to remove contaminants in the water. If you need a water filter for your home, this is not the filter for you since these are not commonly used in households.
These are the different types of water filters. Although they use different mediums, they only have one purpose and that is to purify and make your drinking water clean and safe to drink.
