Poker, a game very popular in casinos and among gamblers, has taken new dimensions. Technology has revolutionized everything, including games. Hence now we have video poker, a modern version of poker games. Video poker is a combination of stud poker, slot machines and a few wild cards.
To use a slot machine you inserting a coin and then you push the play button. The cards on the monitor or screen are displayed and if it’s a good deal, you win. Video poker differs from the slot machines by the fact that the player has complete control over the cards and the deal.
In video poker, you insert a coin and press play button. A number of cards, say five, are displayed on the monitor. The key here is that you can hold any card you want like one, two or all five. You can then bet on these cards starting from $0.05, $0.1, $1.5, $2.0, $2.5 or $5.0. there are also multiples of bet like 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x. Once you decide on what cards to hold the amount of bets and the multiples, you press deal. The video poker tends to draw all the cards and all the cards on the monitor tend to change except the ones you held. After every winning combination you get paid.
The winning strategy here is to maximize the winning combinations. There is a provision to discard cards so you can decide on the best or highest combinations and bet. The highest pay can be won by choosing the right machine, because each machine has its own different set of card combinations, the right strategy and betting on the maximum number of coins. There are various kinds of video poker games available like jacks or better, deuces wild, all American, joker poker, bonus poker and double bonus. There are poker games meant for single players and multiple players as well. There are pay tables present for every game, like that for blackjack, or better yet, a player can go through these pay tables and find out how much he can win and then make a wise decision.
