Every trip requires planning, and especially a trip to Vermont, a state known for its variable weather. The popular cities in Vermont include Burlington, Stowe, Killington, Bennington, Montpelier, Manchester, South Burlington, Brattleboro, and Barre, and all of them are good places to visit.
There are several outdoor sports and cultural activities available, including spectacular art galleries, museums, live music, theatre, antique shops, and historic sites. An all-season vacation destination, Vermont has a number of things to do.
You could go skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snow-mobiling (Vermont has a long winter), hiking, golfing, fishing, canoeing, or kayaking. Or, you could take a bicycling tour or take up mountain biking as your sport of choice. Unwind at a spa; visit the numerous art galleries and art centers or a museum; buy something at the local flea market and craft fair; or take the kids bird watching. Llama trekking and rock climbing are also available. A Vermont Farmers’ Market may provide you with wonderfully fresh fruit and vegetables, and you can watch maple syrup being made as well. Theatres and playhouses are active, and many put on some interesting plays. A brewery or winery could be an alternative option.
Vermont has a whole host of attractions. Some of the popular ones are Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory, which you can visit to see how their world-famous ice cream is made; the Shelburne Museum; the Maple Grove farms; the Jud Hartmann Gallery; the Norman Rockwell Exhibit; the Georgia Family Fun Center; the Ottauquechee Valley Winery; the Hubbardton Battlefield and Museum; and the Crown Point Country Club.
Vermont summer camps offer a wide range of programs, facilities, staffing, and some wonderful opportunities for your children to develop new skills, make new friends, and experience the quality of life in Vermont.
Condo and vacation homes are available for an easy rental from several rental agencies in Vermont. Short- and long-term vacation rentals are available. Vermont also has some excellent full-service hotel accommodations.
