Since the inception of the American Union, Vermont has always been an independent state. Vermont stands completely apart from the other travel and vacation destinations. Montpelier is the capital of this state and Burlington is the largest city in Vermont. Whether it is the marvelous scenery, stone fences, quaint villages, twisting rural streets, or tangled mountains, Vermont has something for every visitor.
Vermont was the very first state admitted to the Union after the approval of the Constitution. Montpelier, which is the smallest state capital, has a population of less than nine thousand people. This is the only city without a McDonald’s outlet in the whole of the U.S. Apart from that, Montpelier is the largest city that produces maple syrup. Vermont has the most number of dairy cows in the country. IBM is the organization that employs most of the people in Vermont.
Vermont was the only state without a Wal-Mart until the year 1996. (The famous shopping center chain exists in every city and a great many towns.) The famous ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream provides its ice cream waste to Vermont’s farmers. They use this waste to feed their hogs. These hogs seem to have a liking for all the flavors. In the 1880s, Rudyard Kipling, a resident of Vermont, invented the game that was called snow golf. Vermont generally does not indulge in selling alcohol to out of state ID holders. Individuals need to have a liquor ID to buy alcohol at liquor stores. This might not really apply to bars. It can affect those traveling through the state and not carrying licenses.
