Think twice before buying a used body kit. Keep in mind that often, kits have to be remolded to fit custom work. It has to be cut or molded to fit your car’s dimensions. You have to be very lucky for a used body kit to fit on your car. Used body kits are usually for used cars, because you wouldn’t want to risk putting used parts on a brand new car.
However, there are several decent second-hand body kits available on the market. The best place to start searching is at your local body shop, or goes online and search for ‘used body kits.’ Chat rooms that discuss custom automobiles are also a good place to inquire. Make sure when you buy used body kits, that the parts have no damages that are usually hidden by paint. You can do an inspection of the kits by actually feeling them and knocking lightly on them with your knuckles to see how the metal sounds. An expert should be able to detect this, but you can also ask the person from whom you are buying the used body kit. Look the person in the eye when you ask.
One good thing about used body kits is they are cheaper. However, if you have to replace a part, they may no longer be available. Still, the quality of a used body kit will remain the same for years when taken proper care of. If you are lucky enough to find a kit that fits your car, you will benefit.
