A movie that may not be well received in a movie theater might be a hit in a DVD rental store. This has also often been the case even with the advent and subsequent explosion in popularity of VHS in the 1980s. If you are one who enjoys watching any and all movies, then DVD’s are the way to go.
Stores generally keep many copies of popular DVD movies to keep their customers happy. Those who could not rent a popular DVD movie the first time around, can put their name of a reserve list and pick up the movie as soon as it is available. Sometimes, regular customers can reserve a copy of a popular movie by calling the store or by paying a deposit fee in advance.
Store managers usually keep an eye on how theater box offices are grossing for a particular movie. Many websites provide a list of current box office hits and up and coming prospective hits along with an overview of the movie’s content. These lists are also available at the online DVD rental stores.
Although a number of movies are released throughout the year, only a few have that special ingredient to make it to the top. DVD stores must have an insight on how a movie might be received by the customers. Movies made for kids are always in great demand in the first two weeks. Stores make it a point to keep a good supply of these movie to keep their little customers happy.
