The manually operated blinds can be operated with a detached wand, while a wall switch can operate the motorized version. The motors are powered by batteries or by a regulated low-voltage power supply. There are several styles of blinds that you can choose from, depending upon your requirements. Some commonly available styles are Venetian, Pleated, Blackout, Roller, External, and Awning. Blinds have many utilities. They can be used to diffuse, adjust, or block the light and heat.

If you wish to control the light according to varying needs, then Venetian blinds with aluminum reverse are able to direct sunlight in any direction that you want. These are great for kitchens and bathrooms, where you require privacy and yet want to control the humidity.
However if you want total room darkening specifically for your bedroom or the TV room, then the best bet would be to choose drop-down blinds matching the color of your roof with aluminum reverse.
Finally, if reducing cooling costs is your priority, then the best possible option is the awning installed on the exterior of your skylight window, which ensures heat is blocked before it enters the room.
