Run cake is very easy to make and considered to be a gourmet’s delight. But not everyone can relish its taste. However, those who get hooked on rum cake develop a real love for the flavor.
Rum cakes can be easily prepared at home. There are a number of shops that supply different types of rum cakes. There is an almost endless variety including almond, apple rum bundt cake, apricot, autumn rum cake, Bacardi banana rum cake, banana rum cake, banana rum fudge cake, black rum cake, Canadian rum cake, chocolate chip rum cake and chocolate coconut rum cake.
The basic ingredients used in preparing a simple rum cake are yellow cake mix, instant vanilla pudding, oil, water, rum, eggs, chopped pecans, butter, sugar and cream cheese.
To prepare a rum cake, one has to combine cake mix with rum, water, pudding and oil and then add eggs. The cake has to be baked at around 325xb0F for a half an hour to 40 minutes. Then one has to cook the glaze and pour it over the cake as soon as it is done. Then, let the cake cool and serve it.
Rum cake is often closely associated with Caribbean dessert recipes. Rum cake or black cake is the traditional choice for all major celebrations in this part of the world. In fact, no wedding, christening or Christmas celebration in the Caribbean is complete without the famous dark and moist rum cake. A Caribbean rum cake is often laced liberally with rum. Here, rum cakes are available with various kinds of icing to suit your taste. Some of them are unique and exotic and not easily available in other parts of the world.
