Most women who are estrogen-dominant prefer to use natural progesterone to balance estrogen. Excess estrogen can cause severe problems such as breast cysts and cancer. However, natural progesterone can also produce some side effects since it is a synthetically produced product. Natural progesterone produces some side effects if too much is taken and has to be used with care.
Since progesterone is a fat-soluble hormone, it can result in the user gaining weight after using the cream for a long time. Since this happens in small quantities, initial use might not produce any such result. This is because excessive use of progesterone cream results in disruption of other hormones in the body.
It is suggested to reduce the usage of the cream after the adrenal hormones normalize. A doctor’s advice is needed for further usage. The normalization of the adrenal hormones usually takes about three to six months and varies from person to person.
Using progesterone cream involves some drastic changes in the lifestyle of the user. Diet must be controlled and early sleep is a must for the cream to be effective. Anxiety and emotional strain can disrupt the work of the progesterone cream. It is advised to get a checkup of the adrenal hormones before starting the application of this cream. One sure test that will give the exact details of the body’s hormones is by measuring the concentration of these hormones in the saliva. Based on the test results the physician can prescribe the usage of the cream.
Using progesterone cream results in high level of progesterone in the body, which might create a number of complications. Proper dosage is very important.
