When hired as a service person, apart from working in the best interests of the public, officers also need to follow a strict decorum and work in accordance to certain laws and specifications. In order to warn people about the arrival of police cars and to let passersby’s know of their regular surveillance activities, police cars use special lights and sirens that warn people about their arrival and presence. Most police lights that are installed on cars usually follow a blinking pattern and prove to be a combination of colors. Apart from this, they also use revolving red lights in case of emergencies. Police car lights are placed upon the roof at the highest point of the vehicle so that people can view them from a distance. These lights operate through car batteries; police officers conduct regular checks to ensure their serviceability at all hours.
Apart from vehicle police lights, technicians also use battery back up lights in the form of torches. These torchlights can be operated through batteries or regularly charged for a specified time limit. This helps store sufficient back up power that keeps these torches lit for hours. The need for police lights is enormous, as officers are required to patrol all through the night. In case of 911 calls or emergencies, they may be required to visit dark alleys, riversides, and other insufficiently lit areas. Police lights help officers fish out hooligans and thieves, locate missing persons, and rectify accidents. Police lights also help officers hunt for evidence in dark areas during the night. This is important or else vital data is tampered with or may simply be overlooked. These flashlights are extremely powerful and offer maximum visibility outdoors. When police lights are flashed directly into a probable criminal’s eyes, it blurs the vision and forces the suspect to stop in their tracks.
