Most people are not equipped to deal with death but find ways to cope with the pain of a loved one’s departure. Even though people would want their loved one to live forever, they realize it is impossible. There are many elaborate ways that bereaved people employ to mourn their departed friends, relatives or even pets.
One such way is to build a memorial to preserve the memories of the dead. For animal-lovers, pets are a part of their families and not very different from human beings. Some pet owners create a pet photo memorial for their dead pets, to cherish the wonderful moments they have spent together.
There are many different ways to create a pet memorial. It is possible to build a grand memorial by including all the articles associated with the dead pet’s memories or by just placing a stone in the grass with the pet’s name on it. There is also the option of setting up statuettes or having the body of the pet stuffed, frozen or mummified.
Lifegems is a new technique that uses the carbon from the pet’s remains and compresses it into diamonds, making it an immortal memorial. Some people prefer to keep a pet memorial simple and only wish to be able to see their pets as they were when alive. Pet photo memorials serve this purpose and are an ideal way to celebrate the love for a pet.
Pet photo memorials can be set up indoors or in sheltered locations to protect them from the elements. They can be set up with a single picture or a whole collection, documenting different stages in the pet’s life. Generally, people prefer to use a single large portrait, surrounded by numerous smaller photos. A plaque or a simple hand-written sign with the pet’s name, relevant dates and an epitaph can also be added. Lighting a candle before the memorial every time pet owner visits it is a great way to pay homage to the pet’s memories.
