Office Security Systems

Office security systems refer to closed circuit televisions (CCTV) surveillance systems, in which all the circuits are completely closed and all the components are connected. They are mainly used for security and surveillance purposes in offices where the threat of illegal activities and theft is imminent. However, many companies and institutions also use these cameras to monitor their employees so that complacency at the workplace can be avoided.

There are many types of surveillance cameras and most of them can be classified according to their functions. Some companies and institutions opt for covert or hidden cameras that are installed inside a smoke detector. Dome cameras have a dome installed directly on the ceiling, so that it can keep a close watch all around the room.

The images and videos captured in a video surveillance camera are admissible in court as evidence. This makes them indispensable for law enforcement agencies and security agencies around the world. Although it is not against the law to install cameras in offices, the debate over electronic privacy continues.

In light of the recent terrorist attacks, the government and people are teetering on the fringes of paranoia, when it comes to protecting the lives of people working in an office. These types of cameras go a long way in identifying any anti social activities or elements that may pose a threat to life and property.

CCTV cameras are also used in offices where precious metals and stones such as diamonds are sold and bought. Antwerp’s diamond district is such a place. Recent terrorist attacks have forced the authorities to install CCTV surveillance cameras at each corner of the district. CCTV cameras are used for a myriad purposes and come in many types and makes. These cameras have become an important tool for many as far as security and safety is concerned.
