Vans can be used for different purposes. Contractors use them to carry equipment; they are a great mode of transport while moving houses; they are often taken out by people for recreational activities, etc. Ladder racks can make all these activities a lot easier, by increasing the storage space available in a van.
A ladder rack for Chevy Astro or/ GMC Safari minivan is available with flat or arched cross supports. The bowed cross support version is prefect for loading and unloading the ladders; it can be upgraded with the side access or lock down upgrades. The flat cross support version is ideal for carrying several ladders, plywood, or other cargo. These racks come with 4 3/4″ wide cross supports, which are constructed with zinc-plated steel and covered with a sturdy polyester-epoxy white powder coat finish for greater rust protection. Racks bolt through the roof with reinforcement brackets that, along with the van’s roof braces, offer better support. Both racks fit GMC Safari and Chevy Astro minivans.
Heavy-duty steel ladder racks are available with either two or three cross supports, and can handle loads up to 800 pounds, including scaffolding or piping. Three cross-support models are ideal for holding less stable cargo that has a propensity to sag. The installation is drill-free, making it simple to remove the rack or transfer it to a different vehicle if necessary. The ladder racks are constructed of 14-gauge structural steel tubing, which gives extra durability and strength. Each of the 1 1/2″ square cross support is set deep into the steel uprights. The additional wide mounting base and clamp guarantees utmost support and stability, without having to drill holes in the vehicle top. The tie-down ring on each cross support is adjustable, and firmly secures the cargo. For superior protection and durability, the racks come with a thick powder coat finish. It may be essential to cut cross supports on the vans having contour roof designs.
