Industries are difficult places to maintain cleanliness and therefore require specialized cleaning solutions. Thanks to the advancement in technology, today’s industrial vacuums silently go about their work, making them almost an indispensable part of any industry. Space, aviation, engineering, medical, entertainments, telecommunications, even military, you name it and there is no industry, which does not depend upon industrial vacuums.
The use of corrosive chemicals and other metals in manufacturing processes results in the deposition of dirt or dust on to metallic as well as non-metallic substances. This generally results in a thin film deposition. Such deposits are difficult to remove and require a specialized vacuum process. The process most widely used in industries is known as physical vapor deposition, which is a combination of two processes again, namely, sputtering and evaporation. Similarly to this are other vacuum processes implemented in industries. Some of them include, ion implantation, plasma processing and chemical vapor deposition, to name only a few.
As you can see, since industrial needs vary, when it comes to cleaning solutions, every industry has its own requirements. A chemical factory’s need may be different from that of a textile-manufacturing unit. Therefore extensive studies are done before choosing the right kind of vacuum for an industry.
One has to determine the ‘duty cycle’ of a machine before going in for an industrial vacuum. The duty cycle of a machine is nothing but the time duration the machine is going to be operated. The power of a machine to a large extent determines the ability of a machine to work for long hours. The filter system that one should go in for depends on the type of dust you want to collect. You should also find out how the filter system is cleaned. The size of the machine is another important factor to be looked into, in the case of industrial vacuums. Portability of a machine depends on its size, particularly the frame size. Finally check out for the manufacturer’s warranty. These are some of things one should be acquainted with while hitting the market for an industrial vacuum.
