High school means studies, enjoyment and a lot of sports. Schools, like many corporations, are facing a financial crisis; the first things to go are the non-essentials. Unfortunately, in many schools sports are one of the first to go.
To avoid this, high school students and staff are actively involved in fundraising events to support their teams. In order to raise money, teams sell things like candy bars, tee shirts, cookie dough, magazine subscriptions, and scratch cards, organize car washes, bake sales, spaghetti dinners, and golf tournaments. They set up booths at grocery stores and malls, and ask for cash sponsorships from local merchants.
High school students are always on the Internet; so online auction fundraisers are popular among the high school crowd. There are hundreds of websites to go to for information and ideas. Sites that support high school fundraising claim to have 30% more catalog items, 45% more items sold, and 133% more donated items than the average live action event.
Online auctions that support the educational market have 30% more catalog items, 45% more items sold, and 133% more donated items than the average live auction event. School-related auctions are doing very well for themselves on the Internet.
Students who are old enough can also go door to door for fundraising.
With any school fundraising event, safety is a big concern when using kids going door-to-door as sales people. To keep everyone safe remember that all fundraising activities involving kids (even high school kids) should be supervised by a teacher or parent.
