Waikiki Beach is in Oahu and Hapana Beach on the Big Island, Punalu’u Beach is formed from the two most active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa. Other renowned beaches in Hawaii are Lanikai, The North Shore, Hookipa, Lahaina, Poipu, Kauna ‘oa, Kaanapali, and Honaunau Bay. Some are packed with tiny grains of peridot and are famous for green turtles. There are a number of state parks offering amenities such as barbecue stands, picnic benches, showers and camping.
Hawaiian beaches are excellent for activities such as windsurfing, snorkeling in calm waters, good swimming, bodysurfing on a shore break, deep-sea fishing and scuba diving. With a large number of pavilions for eating and an abundance of flat space for games, these beaches are a perfect place for family gatherings.
