New boxed laptops that are sent to retailers may sometimes be returned to the factory itself for various reasons. Factory refurbished laptops undergo remanufacturing process to check if there is any manufacturing defect. Each refurbished laptop passes through various examinations. If there is no fault then the hard disk is reformatted and the operating system is loaded. Then the laptop is worked for not less than four hours. If any fault is found, then the defective part is replaced. After the correction process the laptop is updated with a new serial number for recognition as a factory refurbished laptop. A new label with the model number, description, and serial number is put on the new package. Before despatching, the factory refurbished laptops are rechecked by the quality control department. Individual checking of all components is done at this section for assuring perfect functioning of the whole system.

Third party on site warranty of about six to twelve months is given to almost all factory refurbished laptops. You can also buy an extended warranty for three years. This scheme supports the maintenance and parts replacement of the laptop. Factory refurbished laptops are as reliable as new ones because the quality is checked very accurately.
