Special orders for your baby? Anything you want is available for discerning clients. Bedding is available in a range of options. There is baby cradle bedding and crib bedding sheets, play yard and bassinet bedding, twin sheets and pillowcases. A fewhelpful hints will help you make the right bedding choices.
Crib bedding and baby crib bedding sets should be secured at a time when the baby can pull up to standing. Decorative features such as ribbons should be non-removable. Do not use pillow sheets or top sheets with crib bedding sets; you can use one with a
toddler bedding set if you so choose. To protect the crib mattress, use waterproof pads under the crib sheets. While you may want to use a crib that has been passed down by your parents for your baby, remember that older cribs may not come with modern safety
features or meet contemporary safety standards. Firm, close fitting mattresses are safe – soft mattresses pose a suffocation risk to the baby. It may not fit the crib frame rendering the baby liable to slip between the frame and mattress. Loose clothing could get caught on posts while decorative headboards could actually become a trap a curious baby. The protection of children from harmful baby products like cribs falls under the watch of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, a government agency. Over the past 30 years, there has been a 30% decline in death and injury rates from consumer products, thanks to the vigilance of the commission. The guidelines insist among other points that the corner posts should be no higher than 1/16 inches and that slats should be only 23/8 inches apart. And of course, there should be no missing or broken hardware or slats.
In order to be close enough to keep an eye on the baby, the co-sleeper, a baby bed that can be attached to the side of an adult bed is a safe bet. Shaped like a crib with a side rail missing, the co-sleeper can be adjusted to the height of the adult bed and parents can reach out and pacify or feed the baby with ease.
Other interesting customized baby furniture includes the bassinet, which is for newborns to four-month-olds. These have a hood component, a fitted bassinet sheet and a bumper. A portable crib could make taking the baby along with you easier, and give the baby a sense of comfort. With so many baby furniture options, choosing the one right for your baby should be easier than you thought.
