Chillers

Chillers are self-contained systems which consist of a unit for refrigeration and a coolant circulation mechanism which includes the reservoir and a pump. Chillers maintain the appropriate heat balance in thermoplastic processing by the recirculation done constantly. The process of recirculation is done with the chilled cooling fluids to various applications like the injection molds and extruder baths.

Chillers are available on the market in various models from different manufacturers. Chillers remove the heat from the machines and processes by supplying the coolant from 20º to 90º F degrees at the most high ambient design conditions. They provide the complete automatic operation and a high reliability is maintained in controlling the temperature. The design of the chillers saves water and it effectively reduces the cooling costs.

In general, the chillers are designed to be very compact and simple to install. The life of the equipment service can be extended by the use of a non-contaminating system. The maintenance of the chiller is less and works with high efficiency operation. The engineered system in the chiller helps in enhancing the cooling capacity of the system. Issues regarding reliability and the safety are well controlled and maintained using the automatic control system with the manual override.

Chillers are classified into a few varieties such as industrial chillers, recirculating chillers, chiller rentals, water chillers, wine chillers, aquarium chillers and used chillers. They are available on the market in a large collection with different manufacturing designs. Lytron, NuTemp, American Chillers, and M and W systems are few of the popular chiller manufacturers. The bio-medical chillers, semi-conductor chillers, and fermentation chillers also offer you many applications.

A few of the major applications of chillers are cold plunge, therapy, medical, plastics molding, extruding, welding, food processing, compressors, plating, lasers, MRI, CT and hydraulics. The size varies from one chiller to the other like compact, ¼HP to 1HP (S- Series), 1.5HP to 3HP (M-Series), 5HP to 15HP (L Series). The standard capacity ranges from 0.1HP to 15HP.

The price range of a chiller depends on the type of the chiller you purchase. In general, a chiller would cost you around a minimum of under $50 and it can be a maximum of over $17,000 depending on your need and the capacity of the chiller model. These are available on the market in large collection of models and capacities which provides you the reasonable price range with high efficiency.
