Those who like to spend most of their time at the beach or scuba dive can locate accommodation near less crowded beaches where the cost is much less than that at major hotels in other parts of the city. Most cheap hotels are situated in downtown Cancun away from the beach. Though the cost in these hotels is low, the visitor has to know some Spanish to bargain for the best deal. As soon as the tourist reaches Cancun airport, taxis can be hired for $10 to $20 to reach these hotels. One minor problem is that the taxis are rather small. Cancun beaches are also lined up with a few inexpensive motels. These motels offer two most important advantages to the visitor: the beauty of the beach and savings on money. The city also has several vacation homes, beach houses, resort properties and condos that are often more affordable than expensive hotels.
One possibility of hiring an inexpensive hotel is by looking for cancellations. Several tourists cancel their hotel accommodation at the eleventh hour due to various reasons. When this happens, it is always to the advantage of the visitor. Chances are better if the visitor can spend $20 extra.
A few of the cheap hotels in Cancun are Caribe Internacional, City Express Cancun , Imperial Laguna Cancun, Imperial Las Perlas and Maria de Lourdes. Most of these hotels are situated in downtown Cancun or Lagoon area, and a few are found at the beach. They charge from $25 to $50 per night for accommodation. It is not impossible to enjoy a visit to Cancun by staying in cheap hotels.
