For a businessman on the go, it is imperative to have a CD carrying case. CD carrying cases ensure that the CDs remain protected from the elements as also from accidental dropping of the case. The chief advantage of carrying a CD case is the portability factor and the handiness. Some people keep their CDs open and in dusty places which results in damage to the contents. On account of the size, CDs are also easily misplaced. To protect CDs from internal damage and loss, carrying cases are recommended. CD cases are available in various sizes, prices and in attractive designs and colors.
Music stores and office supply stores sell a variety of portable carrying cases for CDs. Some of these store the individual CDs in transparent plastic envelopes similar to the pages of a book. These are light, convenient to use, and facilitate storage of a large number of disks in a fairly small space. A nylon CD carrying case with a shoulder strap for mobility can easily be large enough to carry 60 CDs.
Unlike many other storage systems, CD carrying cases are portable by design. Some are designed for placing over the visor in a car, giving easy access to CDs. The disadvantage of this type of a carrying case is only a small number of CDs can be stored in it
Some carrying cases are large enough to store 100 CDs. These are often binders that can also hold the booklets that come with CDs. It is easier to take a single binder than to carry 100 jewel cases. This type of a carrying case is very popular amongst college students as it allows them to organize their music CDs and helps fit the maximum number of CDs in a very small space.
New applications are creating new ways to carry CDs. For example, many cars these days have CD disc changers, which have portable disk holsters built-in.
