Baby Shower invitation cards are a time saver for the host. If invitations are being sent by mail, an envelope that stands out for a baby shower is usually sent.
Baby shower invitations can be created by one or one can purchase printable invitations. Other ideas include making a handmade baby shower invitation, sending e-card invitations, handwritten or personalized cards, or using a baby shower invitation kit. The invitation ideas can be taken from old invitations, online, books, or magazine articles. An invitation should be saved for the baby’s scrapbook.
Everyone invited should get a separate baby shower invitation card, even if they are in the same household.
The card should have the name of the guest of honor, name and address of the hostess/host, decorating scheme of guest of honor, theme of the party, date and time of the shower, location and directions to the baby shower. It should mention the favorite colors of the guest of honor, where the guest of honor has a registry. Suggested ideas for gifts can also be listed. If a meal is planned (refreshments, appetizers) it should be mentioned in the invitation. RSVP has to be included in the card.
If a surprise baby shower is being planned, mention it in the card. Let the guest know how to reply. Include the host’s phone number (and the phone number of the shower location for last minute directions), email or a reply card.
Make a list of guests who have confirmed their participation. If you fail to hear from someone a week after the initiations went out, go ahead and call to make sure that the invitations reached them. A ‘thank you’ card for attending the shower should also be planned.
