Arthritis pain affects mainly the joints. There may be swelling, inflammation and stiffness. If not attended to at an early stage, the pain may almost immobilize the patient completely. The best course therefore would be to immediately consult your doctor the day you feel some sort of pain, because pain by itself is not a disease, but a symptom of disease, which may be arthritis. Arthritis may be caused due to several reasons such as inflammation, joint tissue damage and overexertion.
Bouts of depression may also tend to immobilize you and incapacitate you to manage your pain. You should not get carried away by misleading advertisements by quacks and charlatans. The doctor will diagnose the type of arthritis you are afflicted with and he will therefore prescribe a medicine specific to the type of your arthritis. This will go a long way in reducing your suffering of pain.
You must try to differentiate arthritis pain from ordinary pain. You can talk to your fellow sufferers in this regard. You should also try to differentiate the type of your pain on a day-to-day basis. Quite possibly you could suffer one type of pain today, and another type the next day or a few days later.
A careful description of the symptoms may help your doctor prescribe the medicine and the treatment accordingly. Your physiotherapist may also accordingly prescribe exercises specific to your type of arthritis. All this shows that you may have to try various remedies and exercises to reach a well-tried form of treatment that may work for you.
The arthritis pain just cannot be wished away. It has to be taken seriously, but that does not mean that you should always remain stressed and depressed with the fear of pain. The remedy lies in taking the pain in your stride, taking the prescribed treatment and exercises regularly and above all trying to inculcate a positive, optimistic and healthy attitude towards your problems.
