Art Deco is a decorative and architectural style of design that was popular in the 1920s and 30s. The design was characterized by the use of plastic and glass, with geometric designs and bold colors adapted to mass production. Art deco is a style that originated in French luxury commodities shortly before World War I, and it gained immense popularity amongst the elite class of society. Long thin forms, curving surfaces, and geometric patterning characterize art deco, which was prominently displayed at the Paris Exposition of Decorative Arts where fashion trends are set.
Art deco prints are available as a significant part of the revolutionary eras. They are a reminder of the upheaval in the industrial sector, and how people began to live their lives lavishly and aristocratically. They have gained immense popularity in America, England, Germany, and other places in the world. People have begun to place them in their homes, offices, hotels, and restaurants in order to amplify the beauty of the ambiance. Owing to the simplicity and fine lines involved in art deco, it is used mainly as a decorative tool. The art deco used in a home helps to create a transition effect, between two elements or pieces of furniture.
Purchasing an art deco print may prove to be an expensive buy; however, cheap replicas are also available. There is a large collection of original paintings and artists. However if the requirement for art deco prints is solely for decoration, then purchasing quality reproductions can save money. High resolution digital reproductions called giclees have hit the market and are known to be long lasting and of good quality.
Art deco can also be defined as a form of abstract art that takes account of technical progress. Art deco prints have a polished, sharp look and use vibrant colors.
