Planning a family vacation or romantic getaway? Consider an all-inclusive resort package. A relative newcomer on the travel scene, the all-inclusive resort provides an exciting alternative to the “traditional” vacation. On a typical, traditional vacation, it’s pay as you go for hotel rooms, meals, transfers, activities, beverages and tips. Over the course of a vacation, these costs can add up and put a strain on your budget. An all-inclusive resort is different.
The concept of an all-inclusive resort is revolutionary. For one price (usually a price lower than a pay-as-you go vacation), you get all the basics and more. The all-inclusive resort will cover meals and snacks, room, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), entertainment, activities like sight-seeing excursions, transfers from the airport, taxes, tips and round-trip airfare if you request it.
The majority of all-inclusive resorts are in the Caribbean and Mexico. You can even customize your vacation – there are resorts, for example, that cater exclusively to couples by touting romance, seclusion and hedonism. Other resorts are more family oriented, with special activities for the kids and a kids menu for dining. Destinations include Jamaica, St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, Cancun, Mayan Riviera and Puerto Vallarta. Most resorts sport pristine white beaches and water sports like scuba diving and snorkeling.
Your vacation dollar goes farther at an all-inclusive resort. An added benefit is that you know the total cost of your vacation BEFORE you get to your destination. When you arrive at the resort, you simply slip on a wrist band that identifies you as a guest. Then you can start enjoying the amenities of the resort like restaurants, spas, fitness centers, massage, hot tubs and more. So go ahead, order that gourmet meal or premium alcoholic beverage, have that massage or dive to a coral reef, knowing that it’s all included in the single price of your vacation.
