Journals or newspapers play quite an important role in the city of Albuquerque. Regarded as a media center for many parts of New Mexico, Albuquerque has some good journals circulating in it.
Some journals are published daily, while others come weekly. Albuquerque Journal, Albuquerque Tribune, New Mexico Business Journal, New Mexico Business Weekly, Weekly Alibi, Crosswinds Weekly, and Daily Lobo are some journals which are published or circulated in Albuquerque.
The largest newspaper of Albuquerque, Albuquerque Journal, is published from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, it is published as Sunday Journal. A very popular newspaper, it is involved in donations and other activities too. For example, it offered $500,000 to the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation in Albuquerque to complete a 700-seat theater, which will be named Albuquerque Journal Theater.
It also provides an electronic version of its newspaper called ABQ Journal, which is free for all its newspaper subscribers. For non-members, subscription is given only at a fee.
Like all news websites, the site informs us about current happenings at Albuquerque and the surrounding areas. A range of normal services include weather reports, classifieds, matchmaker, advertisements, movies, sports, dining reviews, travel information, and much more. Providing an archived section, which has all past articles in it, it helps to keep track and obtain any specific information without much trouble.
Albuquerque Tribune is circulated every afternoon, from Monday to Saturday. Weekly Alibi, on the other hand, comes only on Thursdays.
Students of University of New Mexico run a daily newspaper called Daily Lobo.
While general newspapers like Albuquerque Journal, Albuquerque Tribune, and others treat many subjects and give current news, specialized newspapers like New Mexico Business Journal and New Mexico Business Weekly give an accurate and detailed record of all business news in and around Albuquerque. Just like the Albuquerque Journal, New Mexico Business Weekly also allows free subscription to its print edition subscribers for downloading the electronic version of the newspaper. Subscribers can download it on to their computers every Friday.
